I thought this would be an apt time to thank all of the Redcliffe team, and you in particular, for all your superb efforts on our behalf over the past 12 months. 

As the Equality and Human Rights Commission is a new public body,  the learning curve has been steep - especially with regard to the accessibility of our events, and we seem to have organised everything from in-house video conferences to a full-on VIP reception for the Prime Minister.

The list is too endless to note down but has included a very successful major stake-holder conference for 300-plus which carried huge reputational risks;  a demanding all-staff event bringing together 400 of our people from across the three heritage commissions and newcomers; a series of major public inquiries; team away days; and a high level international migration summit with associated VIP dinner.

Your role in helping me successfully deliver these wide-ranging events has been invaluable and your negotiating skills in achieving preferential rates and making sure that we always secure our desired venue has been first-class. 

We have often asked you to source venues and marketing items at short notice and had our plans change. You have always dealt with my requests with professionalism and good humour.
